Jean-Paul Philippot
A graduate of the Solvay Business School (Université libre de Bruxelles), Jean-Paul Philippot is CEO of RTBF (Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française). He entered the audiovisual world in 2002, after holding the position of Managing Director of Brussels Public Hospitals (IRIS). Jean-Paul Philippot has implemented several strategic reorganization plans at RTBF. In 2018, he launched a vast transformation, to move from vertical structures based on TV, Radio and Web to an audience-centric model adapted to changing consumption patterns. RTBF’s new strategic plan “RTBF27” accelerates this trajectory, with a view to strengthening RTBF’s contribution to society, fostering editorial innovation, and ensuring direct contact with all RTBF’s audiences. Jean-Paul Philippot was president of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) from 2009 to 2018 and president of Médias Francophones Publics (MFP) from 2021 to January 2025.
