Karen Donders

Karen Donders (b. 1983) is Director of Public Service at VRT and, since 2021, also oversees Talent and Organization at VRT. She was previously professor of Communication Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where she led the Media & Society research program. An expert in media policy, public broadcasting, and the platform economy, she has published widely, including her award-winning book Public Service Media in Europe (Routledge, 2021). Her expertise is recognized internationally, and she has advised organizations such as the European Commission.
